What a fantastic Free Comic Book Day! In years past there may have been a few good comics worth picking up, nothing absolutely must-have, but this year…this year there was an awesome selection of swag.  And the best of the bunch? The Sixth Gun #1.

Written by Bunn (The Damned) and illustrated by Hurtt (The Damned, Queen & Country), the story centers on a mysterious gun with supernatural properties, a wary anti-hero and a rival gang of undead trying to acquire it, and some moody, occult-laden landscapes.  The official synopsis per the Oni Press site:

During the darkest days of the Civil War, wicked cutthroats came into possession of six pistols of otherworldly power. The Sixth Gun—the most dangerous of the weapons— has vanished. When the gun surfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, dark forces reawaken. Villains thought long dead set their sights on retrieving the gun and killing anyone in their path. Only Drake Sinclair, a gunslinger with a shadowy past, stands in their way.

Now, if you didn’t make it out for FCBD and missed this one…fear not!
