Where did this one come from, huh? Jesse, being the fervent comic shop patron that he is, stumbled upon this gem at his local store this week and pointed me to it…and boy, oh boy am I glad he did.

Written by Nathan Edmonson (Olympus) and illustrated by wildly original (and talented) Bret Weldele, of Surrogates fame, this horror story follows an abusive ex-husband and his daughter as they try to navigate their way through an creative epidemic–apparently, when you look at any source of electric light, you begin to literally burn alive from the inside.

The writing is crisp and believable, and the art…well, personally, I’m a big fan of Weldele’s work on Surrogates, but if that’s not your thing, you probably won’t like The Light.  All-in-all, a fantastic start to what promises to be a fantastic little series.  Highly reccomend you pick this one up.
