GRIGOR ZHELOV (b. 1818, Sofia, Bulgaria; antiquarian) An antiques dealer who inherited a curiosity shop from his late father, Grigor spent the majority of his adult life studying the Seal of Solomon, a magical ring he found as a boy on the grounds of an abandoned estate. He later purchased a page of the fabled Black Pullet, a grimoire that supposedly teaches how to use magical talismans, such as the Seal, and devoted himself to wielding its power. Discovering he could not only control birds, but also summon low-caste demons to do his bidding, he began a reign of terror on those who tarnished his family’s name and drove his father to suicide. Grigor was eventually subdued by Wakefield and Hollander and turned over to the custody of the Order of the Luminous Dawn, a sect of monks who rehabilitate those seduced by the Dark Arts. His current whereabouts are unknown. |
